Our Story

David

It's funny how a single person can paint an entire experience.

We've since revisited the Thai restaurant where we had our first date and it was... fine. But after going there to meet the beautiful woman who had matched with me on Hinge, I thought that place was amazing! That day was the first time I saw her in person, the first time we had a deep conversation, and the first time I got to have an experience that was vastly improved because I had it with her.

Since that day we've done so many things together. I taught her how to drive "Rudy", my 2003 manual transmission Honda Civic. I thought she was learning it well enough to drive to get lunch, so she did without stalling. She took me out on the “USS Huckleberry", her paddleboard. I thought I'd be able to stand up, so we both went swimming.

I can't tell you how excited I am to marry Meg. She has been the reason for the most joyful season of my life. I'm so thankful that we will be painting experiences together for the rest of our lives.

Meg

Knowing and loving David is such an adventure! One of our first few dates was to 6-Flags. It was my first time on a roller coaster and it was the first time we held hands. I remember David asking me after the first roller coaster “what did you like and what did you not like about that”. He then proceeded to tailor the roller coasters we rode based on my answer:) That day I learned that I don’t generally enjoy roller coasters, but that I do enjoy spending time with David. It’s surprising how easily his conversation can make a long line feel short.

In the time that we’ve spent together I’ve learned a great many other things. We both share similar interests and values. We can make each other laugh uncontrollably at the most goofy things. We also make each other feel deeply loved and supported.

I’m so overjoyed to be marrying David. We may not know what life may have in store for us in the future, but we are excited to face it together. In the words of David, “it may be a roller coaster, but at least we will get to hold hands”.
